It's a root vegetable known as Gobo by the Japanese.  Saya first makan masa di Jepun, di goreng macam fries dan dibuat kerepek.  Sangat sedap!!! 

 

Growing instruction and tips

1.  Prefers alkaline soil

2. Sow direct

3. Grows well in shady area

4. Germination time: 1-2 weeks

Benih Carrot Parisian Market (RM2: 70 seeds)

 

Carrot yang comel bulat-bulat.  Boleh di tanam direct on the ground or dalam bekas.  The advantage of these carrots is that they can grow in shallow soil.

Growing instruction:
  1. Sow seed thinly, 2-5cm apart
  2. Beware of slugs or snails
  3. Be sure to provide even moisture for good shape
  4. Germination time: 1-2 weeks (kenalah sabar banyak-banyak)

BENIH CARROT SCARLET NANTES (RM2: 70 seeds)

A nearly coreless carrot, about 6 inches in length and good for snacking too. I think boleh juga di tanam dalam bekas yang agak dalam.  Growing instruction lebih kurang sama seperti carrot di atas cuma, pastikan tanah gembur agak dalam.

BENIH PARSNIP HOLLOW CROWN (RM2: 35 seeds)



Large tapering roots.  Creamy, tender, and sweet flavoured.  Parsnip ni tahan frost and actually frost akan menjadikan parsnip ni lagi manis.  Since di Malaysia kita tiada frost or cuaca sejuk, some people suggest supaya parsnip diletak dalam peti sejuk (ada yang suggest bubuh dalam crisper dan ada yang kata dalam freezer, well saya belum cuba lagi).
Saya belum pernah makan lagi parsnip ni tapi sedang tanam di garden saya sekarang.  Sangat suka dengan daun-daunnya yang cantik hijau.  Gambar di bawah:

1. Sow direct in the ground
2. Avoid overcrowding - parsnip ni daun dia lebar2
3. Germination time: 1-2 weeks dan untuk memudahkan germination, maintain moisture in the ground
4.  Great companion plant for beans, onions, corn, cucumber, radish dan tomatoes.
5. Harvest dalam masa 6 bulan (according to orang yang pernah tanam parsnip di Malaysia)
